• Meet John Doe - 1941

After losing her newspaper job, Ann Mitchell (Barbara Stanwyck) pens a letter to her old boss from
John Doe in which suicide is threatened because of the downturn of modern society.  After word of the letter gets out, the public becomes very interested in the identity of the author.  Mitchell is hired back on because of the interest the letter has produced.  After many men claim to be the author in order to get in on the excitement, Mitchell hires a man to play the role.  The actor creates an entire political view based on the fictitious character that actually takes hold of the community!  Not everyone believes the man's identity and he quickly plans to expose the public to the truth.
